Cagliari will have a good chance to get back on track as they host relegation threatened Hellas Verona on Sunday. The Rossoblu come into this game having lost 2-1 to Torino, but they will be welcoming a side who have earned a dismal six points out of a possible 33, and Cagliari earned a hard-fought 2-1 win against another relegation candidate, Benevento, in their last home game, to put some distance between themselves and the drop zone.

The Rossoblu should be able to rebound here and pick up a much needed win. Despite their leaky defense last term, they avoided relegation, largely due to the bad performances of other teams like Pescara, Palermo, and Empoli, and this time around, they again could be salvaged by other badly performing sides like Benevento and Genoa, as well as Hellas Verona. However, they won’t want to be complacent, as Verona will be desperate to try to end their three-match losing streak.

All three of those wins have come against teams ranked below them in the table, and it’s clear the Rossoblu are going to focus on picking off the teams faring worse than them, and that includes Hellas Verona. It’s hard to see the Gialloblu posing too much of a threat to the Sardinians, so they should be able to rebound from their loss to Torino and pick a much needed win here.
