Bournemouth bagged a morale boosting win when they visited Stoke City last weekend ending a barren win-less run of three games in the Premier League. This release some pressure on the team that stay 1 spot above the bottom in the table after having lost 6 of their 9 matches so far.

If confidence is what Eddie Howe is looking for, the Cherries have it now with another win coming on the weekend against Middlesbrough in the League Cup fixture. Yet, the match against Chelsea on Saturday will be a different kettle of fish altogether.

Chelsea are not in convincing form at the moment and it all started with the 1-0 home defeat against Manchester City before the international break. Since then, they lost to the bottom of the table team Crystal Palace and squandered a 2 goal cushion to drew 3-3 with Roma in the Champions League before profiting from a wasteful Watford to get back to winning ways.

In short, the Blues are managing to hung in there, there is nothing solid in any aspect of their gameplan. They already fell 9 points behind Manchester City in the title race and the likes of games against Bournemouth are the ones they can’t afford to drop points.
