AC Milan vs Torino: Preview and Prediction
AC Milan vs Torino
2017/18 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 26 November 2017
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio San Siro (Milan).
Milan will be desperate to end a three game winless streak at home as they welcome Torino on Sunday afternoon. Interestingly, the Rossoneri have been strong in the Europa League, but not so much in Serie A, and this has seen them slip well off the Scudetto pace. At this point, a top four finish seems out of reach for Milan, which is quite disappointing considering the amount of money spent this summer.
Meanwhile, Torino will be keen on making a push for a Europa League spot – something that eluded them last season – and something that they at least will need to achieve if they want to hang on to key man Andrea Belotti. Their defensive problems, however cost them dearly, and it still continues to haunt them this term as they have shipped 20 goals already, whilst scoring 18.
The Granata have won just one of their past five league fixtures and Belotti is just coming back from an injury. Notably, he missed a spot-kick that would have given Torino the lead against Chievo, so he isn’t exactly brimming with confidence at the moment.
On the opposite side of the pitch, another player whose confidence isn’t sky-high either will be Leonardo Bonucci, who has been a shell of his former self since leaving Juventus this summer. Although the Rossoneri thrashed Austria Wien 5-1, the fact that he made a rather embarrassing defensive error to lead to Austria Wien’s opening goal was quite surprising to say the least, and he will be keen on putting in a better shift in front of Milan’s fans on Sunday.
Given that Torino managed to draw Inter at this same ground, they will certainly be fancying their chances to get at least a point against the Nerazzuri’s cross-town rivals this weekend.
