Neither Armenia nor Belarus came close to qualification for the World Cup in Russia 2018.
They now have to work on improving the confidence and building on the winning momentum before the next set of qualifiers for Euro 2020.
The first step will be the head to head tie set to be played this Thursday in Yerevan.
Armenia
The hosts will come into this on the back of four losses and a draw in last five matches.
Arthur Petrosyan’s men did end the negative streak of four straight losses with a 1-1 away draw in Kazakhstan, but the local fans obviously want more from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and company.
Belarus
White Wings had an even worse campaign in the previous qualifying term which saw them take the very foot of the standings in Group A.
Interestingly, Igor Kriushenko remained the head coach in spite of winning no more than five points in the campaign and ending even behind Luxembourg in the table.

This will be the fifth head to head tie between the two likes. Belarus have been more successful winning two and drawing two so far.
The last meeting took place in March last year when the friendly in Yerevan offered no goals.
