The stakes can hardly be greater on Wednesday evening when Gremio are set to host Lanus in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores final.

Lanus are responsible for one of the greatest comebacks in Copa Libertadores’ history as they managed to turn the two-goal deficit to a 4-2 win in the second leg of their semifinal tie against the likes of River Plate.

The price for the continental successes has, however, been paid in the domestic campaign which saw Jorge Almiron’s men losing four on the bounce in Superliga failing to find the back of the net in each of the outings during the process.
